How do I put on an ankle support correctly?
Compression ankle support
- Slide the support over your foot like a sock and pull it into position around the ankle.
- Position it so that the heel sits in the intended section and the support covers the joint evenly.
- Smooth out any folds, as these can rub inside footwear.
Figure-eight hook-and-loop support
- Keep the foot at a right angle to the lower leg.
- Place the main section of the support over the foot and around the ankle.
- Guide the strap diagonally across the instep, around the ankle and back across the instep to form a figure-eight pattern.
- Secure the strap with the hook-and-loop fastening at a comfortable level of tightness.
Lace-up ankle support
- Put the support on and seat the heel firmly in the rear section.
- Lace it from the bottom upwards, tightening evenly.
- If there are additional straps, fasten them after lacing.
General tips
- Wear the support on dry skin or over a thin sock.
- Put the support on before your footwear.
- If you notice numbness, tingling or the foot becoming cold, loosen the support.
