Evening primrose oil is rich in essential fatty acids - in particular, it contains linoleic acid (LA) and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), i.e. compounds belonging to the group of polyunsaturated omega-6 acids. The intake of unsaturated fatty acids into the body is very important in many cases, especially in women's nutrition. Linoleic acid (LA) helps maintain proper cholesterol levels in the blood. Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is an omega-6 fatty acid found in vegetable oils. It is believed that GLA in EPO helps fight acne by reducing skin inflammation and the number of skin cells that cause damage. It can also help the skin retain moisture. Although the body can synthesize GLA from other dietary fats, it is more effective when consumed in its prepared form.
