Caprylic acid, also known as octanoic acid, is a medium-chain fatty acid (MCT). The body does not need bile and lipase to digest caprylic acid, so the acid is an easy source of energy for the body. Caprylic acid is mainly found in coconut and palm oil, as well as in milk and other dairy products.
