Vitamin D plays an important role in regulating calcium and phosphorus metabolism, acting as a steroid hormone. We obtain vitamin D through exposure to sunlight and (as a fat-soluble vitamin) from food and supplements. Vitamin D occurs in two forms: vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) and vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol). Vitamin D3 is synthesized endogenously in the skin and is naturally found in fatty fish and cod liver oil. Did you know that vitamin D deficiency is one of the major global health issues across all age groups (Charoenngam et al., 2019)? This is due, among other things, to environmental factors that limit sunlight exposure – which is necessary for endogenous vitamin D synthesis in the skin.

Ingredients:

maltodextrin; capsule shell (gelatin) / glazing agent – hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; anti-caking agent (magnesium salts of fatty acids); vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).

Directions for use:

Take 1 capsule daily, without chewing, with sufficient liquid, during or immediately after a meal.
